Twin-Shaft, High-Torque Shearing — Nails Are No Problem Two counter-rotating shafts drive thick, through-hardened alloy steel blades at extremely low speed (12–25 rpm). Unlike high-speed chippers that shatter blades on metal, our controlled shearing treats metal fasteners as just another material to cut.
Intelligent Anti-Jam & Auto-Reverse The integrated PLC continuously monitors shaft load. If a particularly tough hardwood knot, large bolt, or metal strapping is encountered, the rotors instantly auto-reverse to eject the obstruction and automatically resume forward rotation. This hands-free jam clearance maximizes uptime on unpredictable, mixed pallet waste.
Heavy-Duty, Re-Sharpenable Blades for Nail-Embedded Wood Blades are precision-forged from high-carbon, high-chromium tool steel (D2/SKD-11 equivalent) and through-hardened for maximum impact toughness. They withstand daily contact with nails and staples without catastrophic chipping. Thick cutting edges accept multiple re-sharpening cycles, and the bolt-on segmental design allows quick rotation or replacement by a single operator.
Adjustable Output Size for Multiple End Markets A hydraulic screen lifter enables fast, tool-free screen changes in under 10 minutes. Choose coarse 50–80mm chips for biomass boilers, medium 20–40mm for animal bedding or composting, or fine 10–20mm for particleboard or pellet production. One shredder serves multiple revenue streams.

FAQ

Can the shredder really handle whole pallets with nails without pre-sorting? Absolutely. This is the core design function. The twin-shaft shearing action cuts through wood and metal fasteners simultaneously. Nails are sheared into short, harmless fragments. No nail removal or pre-sorting is required, saving enormous labor costs.
What happens to the nails after shredding? The nails are cut into small pieces, typically 20–60mm in length, and are discharged mixed with the wood chips. A downstream overband magnetic separator (which we supply as part of a complete line) cleanly extracts the metal for scrap recycling, leaving clean wood chips ready for use.
Will the nails damage the blades or wear them out quickly? Our blades are specifically engineered for cutting metal fasteners in wood. Through-hardened high-alloy tool steel withstands nail contact without chipping. Typical blade re-sharpening intervals are 500–800 working hours for nail-heavy pallet loads. Blades can be re-sharpened 5–7 times.
