Product Introduction

Whole tires are a storage nightmare and a disposal dead end. They trap rainwater, breed mosquitoes, and are banned from most landfills. Transporting them is expensive because you're shipping mostly air. And processing them? Standard grinders overheat, hammermills spark fires, and cheap shredders wrap steel wire around their shafts until they seize solid.

Our Heavy-Duty Twin-Shaft Tire Shredder is built to solve every one of these problems. It grips whole car tires, pulls them in with aggressive hooks, and shears them — steel wire and all — into rough, uniform chips in a single pass. The low-speed, high-torque design means no sparks, no wrapped rotors, and no daily downtime to cut out jammed rubber. What comes out the other side is ready for secondary grinding, pyrolysis, TDF, or direct sale. This isn't a modified wood chipper — it's a purpose-built tire processing workhorse.

Product Features

Twin-Shaft, High-Torque Tire Shredding Two counter-rotating shafts fitted with massive, through-hardened alloy blades run at very low speed (12–25 rpm). The extreme torque grabs and pulls tires through, shearing rubber and cutting embedded steel bead and radial wires without sparking or overheating — a fundamental safety and reliability advantage over high-speed grinders.
Bead Wire & Steel Cord Tolerant Tires are built with steel. Our shredder's blade geometry and alloy selection are engineered to shear through this wire, not wrap around it. Bead rings are cut into short arcs, and radial wires are chopped into small, manageable fragments. A downstream magnetic separator (available in our complete lines) can then cleanly recover the steel for resale.
Anti-Wrap & Auto-Reverse Protection The PLC control system continuously monitors shaft loads. If a particularly tough section of tire or tramp metal is detected, the rotors instantly auto-reverse to clear it, then resume forward rotation. This hands-free jam clearance is critical for maintaining throughput on variable tire feedstock.
Heavy-Duty Blades Built for Re-Sharpening Blade segments are forged from high-alloy tool steel and through-hardened for the punishing combination of abrasive rubber and cutting steel wire. Their thick profile accepts multiple re-sharpening cycles. Large access panels let one operator rotate or replace blades quickly, keeping maintenance straightforward and downtime short.
Quick-Change Screens for Precise Chip Sizing Whether you need 50mm chips for pyrolysis, 70mm pieces for crumb rubber lines, or 150mm coarse shred for tire-derived fuel, the hydraulic screen lifter allows rapid, tool-free screen changes. One machine adapts to your product mix as market demands shift.

Applicable Material

Tire Materials We Shred

  • Passenger Car Tires: Whole tires from sedans, hatchbacks, and light vehicles, including steel-belted radial tires. No debeading required; processed directly with bead wire intact.

  • Light Truck & SUV Tires: Tires from pickups, SUVs, and vans. Larger cross-section handled efficiently. For our TSH-800 and above models, these can often be fed whole or with minimal pre-cutting.

  • Truck & Bus Tires: Heavy-duty truck, bus, and semi-trailer tires. Best fed pre-cut into sections using a debeader or sidewall cutter (also available from us). High torque handles thick tread and heavy bead bundles.

  • OTR & Mining Tires: Massive off-the-road tires from loaders, haul trucks, and earthmoving equipment. Pre-cut segments are reduced to manageable chunks for further processing or direct fuel use.

  • Agricultural & Industrial Tires: Tractor tires, implement tires, forklift tires, and solid industrial tires. Shredded for crumb rubber, TDF, or material recovery.

  • Tire-Derived Materials: Already debeaded tire wire bundles and residual rubber attached to steel cord. Further processing liberates remaining rubber and cleans steel for scrap recycling

Why Choose Us

  • Factory-Direct Tire Shredding Expertise: You communicate directly with the engineers who design and build tire shredders, not a sales call center. We manufacture rotors, gearboxes, and PLC systems in-house, delivering equipment that's precisely configured for tire processing — at a factory price, without markups.

  • 12-Month Comprehensive Warranty: All core mechanical and electrical components are fully covered. If a production issue arises, our remote support team responds within 12 hours with video-guided diagnostics to get your line back to full throughput fast.

  • Fast-Response Spare Parts & Practical Support: We maintain ready stock of all critical wear parts for tire shredders — blades, spacers, seals, and screens — and dispatch them immediately. Our service guidance is grounded in real operating data: we teach your crew how to maximize blade life between re-sharpenings and plan maintenance around your production schedule.

  • Complete Tire Recycling Lines: From primary shredder to wire separation, secondary granulation, fiber removal, and crumb rubber or powder output, we design and deliver integrated systems. One responsible partner for your entire tire processing project.

Tell us about your tire waste volume and the types of tires you handle. Send photos or a brief description today. Our tire recycling engineers will assess your feedstock and respond with a custom shredder proposal, capacity projection, and transparent pricing within 24 hours.

FAQ

Can this machine really shred whole car tires without debeading? Yes. Our twin-shaft shear shredder is specifically designed for this. It cuts through the rubber and the steel bead wire simultaneously, producing rough chips with the steel fragmented inside. No debeading is necessary for passenger car and light truck tires.
What about truck tires — do they require pre-cutting? For models TSH-800 and above, truck tires should be pre-cut into sections (halves or quarters) using a debeader or sidewall cutter for optimal feeding and throughput. We supply these pre-cutting machines as part of a complete line.
Will steel wire damage the blades quickly? No. Our blade material and heat treatment are selected specifically for cutting steel wire embedded in rubber. The low-speed shearing action cuts the wire rather than abrading against it. Blades typically require re-sharpening every 400–800 working hours and can be re-sharpened 5–7 times.
What chip sizes can I produce for different end markets? With interchangeable sizing screens, you can produce chips ranging from approximately 50mm to 150mm. Smaller sizes suit pyrolysis and crumb rubber production, while larger chips are standard for tire-derived fuel (TDF) and cement kilns.
Is there a fire risk when shredding tires? Very low. The extremely slow rotor speed (12–25 rpm) generates minimal frictional heat and produces no sparks. This is a fundamental safety difference from high-speed hammermills, which are known to cause tire fires.
Can you provide a complete system from whole tire to crumb rubber? Yes. We supply complete integrated recycling lines: primary shredder → magnetic separation → secondary granulator → fiber separation → crumb/powder output. We provide full engineering, layout design, and commissioning support.
