FAQ

Can the shredder handle tangled, mixed batches of different cable types? Absolutely. The machine is designed for exactly this. You can feed a mix of data cables, building wire, and power cords simultaneously. The PLC manages feed rate automatically, and the shear blades cut everything into uniform short pieces without tangling.
Does the shredder strip insulation from the copper, or just cut the cable into pieces? The shredder cuts cables into short segments, but it does not fully strip insulation. It performs "liberation" — cutting cables into pieces where copper ends are exposed and insulation is loosened. For complete copper-plastic separation, a secondary granulator and gravity separator are required. We can supply the complete line.
What about very fine, hair-thin wires — do they wrap? No. The immediate shearing action cuts fine wires before they have a chance to wrap. The anti-wrap rotor geometry and precision blade clearance are specifically engineered to prevent the build-up of thin, flexible strands.
How often do blades need re-sharpening when processing cables? Clean copper and aluminum cables cause relatively low wear. However, armored cables and cables with mineral-filled insulation are more abrasive. Typical blade re-sharpening intervals range from 600–1,000 operating hours. One set of blades can be re-sharpened 5–7 times.
